Over the past many years, the Rotary district 5340 and 4100 and Smiles International Foundation partnership project missions have treated thousands of children afflicted with facial cleft lip and palate deformities. Many of these children have grown to a point in their development that the next phase of reconstruction involve the harvesting of their own bone for this stage. In addition to funding the purchase if the necessary equipment for providing Bone Graft Harvest Equipment to assist Rotary Volunteer Surgeons obtain bone to reconstruct Cleft Facial Deformities present in growing population of Cleft Lip/Palate Children of Baja Mexico, the funds will also be used to replace broken instrumentation already in use and worn and salvageable instrumentation repairs for this project. We therefore cancelled the current signatory process, adjusted the project budget to the RCC contribution of a total of $8500 with a District Match anticipated to total $3500 with a total project budget of $12,000.
