Project Description Country: USA Location: Minden, Nebraska Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Post secondary education scholarship for graduating high school students. Our Rotary Club gives a 500 dollar scholarship, for post secondary education, to one young man and one young woman each spring at the Minden High School graduation. We promote the values of Rotary in our selection process, giving high priority to those who give of themselves. During the Rotary year we host the senior students of Minden High School, having them attend our weekly meeting, two or three students at a time. We promote the scholarship to the students at the meetings. We have a selection committee review and select the recipients. The total budget for the year is 1000 dollars. We are asking for District Grant funds to help with the budget for this activity.
