Project Description Country: USA Location: El Cajon, CA Total Budget: $18,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: To continue Phase 1 of the purchase of the El Cajon City Street Clock to support the city's downtown 'Promenade Project' and to recognize 90 years of Rotary service to the community. The street clock is now in production and will be shipped late June. The down payment of $12,172.50 was made when order was placed in January,2018. A balance of approximately $14,000.00 will be made upon delivery. Club fundraisers have successfully raised $13,000.00 of that amount so far and will continue to increase that amount with the sale of additional personalized bricks. Additional expenses will include clock installation costs, landscaping and brick laying according to city regulations. Club members will perform some of that work. The El Cajon Police Department will store the clock upon arrival and also with installation. The City of El Cajon has indicated an area for the clock and will supply electricity to it. The clock location is on Main Street within "Prescott Promanade" the hub of El Cajon and location of City festivals, annual car shows, and "America On Main Street" - just to name a few. A formal dedication ceremony is planned upon it's completion.
