Project Description Country: USA Location: La Mirada Total Budget: $5,360 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Needy elementary students in La Mirada, CA will receive warm clothes and a gift from Santa and a snack. For the 31st year, the Rotary Club of La Mirada will sponsor the Eileen Wade 2018 "Clothes for Kids" shopping event. Approximately 45 needy La Mirada elementary school students will arrive at Marshalls Department Store in La Mirada. Chaperones from the La Mirada Club, staff from the City of La Mirada, Public Safety personnel and community members will act as chaperones shopping with the children. Each child will have approximately $125 to spend. After the shopping event, the children will be transported by City busses to City Hall to have a reception with members of the senior community at their congregate lunch. The students will be greeted by the Chick fil A cows and then each child will receive a gift from Santa. The students will be released to their parents for return to school.
