The signage will allow for the educational projects of the trails and related landmarks. The project is actually a public image endeavor whereas the walking trail along Cottonwood Creek, within the City of Wasilla, will allow for the betterment of the area. Secondly, the community will benefit from the Rotarians and non-Rotarians efforts to create a world class skiing and hiking opportunity - trail to Rotary Falls in the Government Peak area: https://www.matsugov.us/trails/gpra-summer. The projects are consistent with the goal of a healthy community - both economically and physically.
The requested grant is to educate the community as to the assets that Rotary has developed. Signage and awareness are indeed a general education instruction for finding and using the landmarks. Education doesn't just come in the form of textbooks, rather it is absorbing the waterfalls and trails as depicted from attractive Rotary signage. The signage will also provide publicity for the service projects that Rotary does in the community. Go Rotary!
