This project will foster art appreciation, friendship and environmentalism between the Sister Cities of Cathedral City and Tequila. The artwork and ideas expressed by kids will be exhibited in the United States and Mexico. This program seeks to encourage and inspire youth to work together to recognize and offer solutions for our greater environment.
Funds will be used for art and environmental education materials for elementary and middle school aged students in the Tequila and Cathedral City. As defined by the North American Association for Environmental Education, environmental education is a process that helps individuals, communities, and organizations learn more about the environment, develop skills and understanding about how to address global challenges. By incorporating an art component to this program, 21st Century skills are addressed including communication and expression, problem solving, adaptability and working together.
